So the Bee Movie is actually a trial movie! Who knew?
The Bee Movie is about Barry B. Benson (voiced by Jerry Seinfeld) a bee who just graduated from bee college. He is quickly becomes disillusioned at his his only career choice: making honey. On a special trip outside the hive, Barry’s life is saved by Vanessa, a florist in New York City. As their relationship blossoms, he discovers humans actually eat honey, and subsequently decides to sue them. At trial, despite no legal training, Barry tries to sue all of humanity, introduces a live bear into evidence, and allows his co-counsel to attempt a suicidal stinging of opposing counsel.
This is a wild trial.

I get asked a lot about whether being a practicing attorney is like being a lawyer on TV. I love watching legal movies and courtroom dramas. It’s one of the reasons I decided to become a lawyer. But sometimes they make me want to pull my hair out because they are ridiculous.
Today I’m taking a break from representing clients and teaching law students how to kick ass in law school to take on lawyers in the movies and on TV. While all legal movies and shows take dramatic license to make things more interesting (nobody wants to see hundreds of hours of brief writing), many of them have a grain of truth.

Can you maybe review the new blacklist episodes that lawsuit looks pretty good!?
Can you do “The Perfect Guy”?
“But, still, at least it’s relevant evidence for once.”
Which is more than can be said about a lot of other Hollywood movies.
Dafug
Not sure if or how you’d do comics, but last year in a series of Daredevil comics, Daredevil was attempting to set a precedent to allow costumed vigilantes to testify in costume. It’d be interesting to see your thoughts on that
10:20 i never understood that refrence when i was a kid watching this.
And I thought the reason you couldn’t sue god was because you can’t sue fictional characters.
I’d like to see you to do It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, season 12 episode 6 “Hero or Hate Crime?”, where they go to a professional arbitration lawyer!
Can you please review the steven universe episode where steven goes to trial? 🙂
Can you react to the classic Australian movie “The Castle”? Its about the constitutional power of the state to acquisition land on just terms – basically eminent domain.
Calling it now, F- on accuracy.
hi its my first time here and i only just started the video but if the movie doesnt get a B for irony’s sake i will be SORELY disappointed
Objection, Barry mentions at the start of the movie that they spend 3 days in each level of school. If this is the case, then he could have had legal training in bee school, making him a lawyer.
Legal realism….. in the Bee Movie…where an intelligent bee looks like he is having a emotional relationship with a human woman (oh, and the suing for honey thing)…..I’m going to say not much realism here ^_^
Objection! Jerry Seinfeld starred in a movie about suing himself
To kill a mockingbird next
Objection!!! They said the bear helped them willingly which means he put on an act in court and lied to the court.
Pretty sure Boondocks has a really bad court episode if you don’t mind getting a few bleeps
OBJECTION
They just went along with it under fear of sting
You Look A Bit Like Ryan Reynolds.
This guy should do a let’s play of Phoenix Wright.
The amount he puts real lawyer in the title every time I’m thinking he’s covering something up
Please review “Sleepers” next.
You can’t sue god because god doesn’t exist. Pretty simple .
I would really like to see you react to law abiding citizen
Have you reviewed/reacted to Seven Seconds (from Netflix)? It’s a full series revolving around a trial and I’d be interested in knowing your thoughts on it, especially on the ending.
12:48 sorry this is a kid’s movie .. ?
I usually wouldn’t watch something like this but it’s a lawyer reacting to the Bee Movie. This is gold!
Do a take on star trek TNG. Suggest The on with Q vs humanity ep 1 s1. And The one with datas rights.
AFAIK bees don’t care about honey, just like people don’t care about their shit… May be wrong though
Bee Movie: *exists
Law: am i a joke to you?
Do my cousin vinny
I’d love to see if you could do daredevil (the Netflix one) I love your stuff!
OBJECTION! You should review Ace Attorney or Danganronpa instead
Next
A real bee reacts to the bee movie
Has Legally Blonde been done yet? I’d love to see that.
I second anyone who says you should review Danganronpa in this comment second or past ones. Any of them really, except the final trial of V3.
According to all known laws of… well laws period, bee movie would not be able to fly in court
I never knew I needed this kind of thing in my life.
HA ha ha ha ha ha ha
If the bee flies into the Jury Box… The bailiff will smash you with his shoe!
OBJECTION! There’s one big issue with the prosecution you didn’t take into account. Physically grabbing the Jury and also the presentation of his hind and asking someone to… I think suck the venom from his butt? This would also be a mistrial and punishment for the prosecution. So in that case, the bees could win if the trial could even happen to begin with right?
I can’t believe I watched the whole thing
