The Night Comes for Us – Action Movie Review

Greg and Sam review the Netflix Action film The Night Comes for Us from director Timo Tjahjanto starring Joe Taslim, Iko Uwais, and Julie Estelle amongst others. It’s a re-team with some people from the Raid movies in an Indonesian martial arts film that is easily in the running for goriest action film of all time.

Windows To Indonesia says:

He is simply exhausted killing people … basically he is a religious man praying before Maria statue …
And he could no longer resist his heart at the moment he saw a pure poor little girl ….

In one dialogue by phone …. he said I should do that (stop killing people) long before …

Femmy Syahrani says:

* I agree with your comments about the stop-and-go action
* This is planned as a trilogy, with the Operator as the focus of the second movie. Hopefully there will be more story about her and the other members of the Six Seas and the Lotuses.
* It’s common for Indonesian children to call adult men as “Uncle” in an informal setting like in the movie. Reina calling Ito’s friends as “Mr” would be too formal, and calling them only by their names is just not done.
