Excellent review, dude! Great to see you’re still putting in the work and making quality content!!
I finally just bought it on DVD. As an 80s kid myself, there’s so much nostalgia! Classic kid horror movie!
Why is chaos associated with evil? Some might say “chaos” is simply the building blocks of “order.” Or rather, order in a pre-organized state. Demonic forces typically embody Lawful Evil.
Sadly, never saw it when I was a kid…crap
anyhow, good to see you are up and running with reviews. Keep it up
greets from Croatia
As popular as this movie was supposed to be from what I was told. I am surprised they never did a TV series for the gate. I don’t know if that would be a good thing or bad thing Plus I don’t know if it would even turn out as good as a TV series. It sounded better in my head then out loud. The other thing is I’m surprised they didn’t even do a gate part 3. Well of course from what I was told by couple people Also they told me that the gate 2 wasn’t even all that great. I never seen the gate 2 and I never knew that they did it until now.
This movie scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. I only got to watch it once lol my parents hated it.
I didn’t see this until the late 90’s as I was born 91 but I do remember it scaring the crap outta me. Now I own it an watch it every halloween
Fun movie. I like how the kid who’s into metal music is an expert on the occult and demonology because of it.
Classic 80’s Horror… That laugh of yours about the end…seemed totally bogus.
I love this movie and its sequel. If you would be so kind could you us your pull and talk to big wigs at Scream Factory a have them release this and it’s sequel in a nice Blu-ray collectors set that would be great. If Scream Factory doesn’t bite then Arrow Video will be okay as well.
I put this film on for my 15yr old niece & that scene he’s flung out the door I thought of this review & started laughing, my niece said “Uncle Simon your crazy” which made me laugh that she didn’t laugh.
great intro
Love the gate. Good one.
Me and my friend laughed our asses off at the scene where Stephen Dorff’s character goes flying out the door. We must’ve rewound the tape and watched it 10 times. What makes it even funnier is that just before it happens, he yells “happy birthday!” like some kind of “smile you son of a bitch” line from Jaws. Great review of an underrated gem. Still love the effects in this one.
oh shit I think I did see this movie….. is the dead mom the dog or something. I don’t think I watched the whole thing though
death twitch rules great reveiw
I’d love you to review the Hellraiser movies one day, they have a huge cult following in England.
P.S the ending to your video was hilarious, you have a knack for humour & cram a lot into your reviews which along with your Drunkentarys are always entertaining.
FIRST!
you lazy fucks
Ok as a 36 year old and rewatching this I can say it still can scare you. It’s not your typical cheesy horror like Friday the 13th or Chucky. Sure the effects show their age and yes I’m an adult and I know this isn’t real but the concept of being at home be the place of fear and all the false safe scenes really amped up the adrenaline. All in all it’s a great representation of solid 80s horror.
That laugh is contagious!
(I’m crying laughing now because one of my recommend vids below yours is some The Gate is halfway to 9/11 video! lmfao! Also I think of this movie every time I see one of those illuminati music played backwards conspiracy theories lol)
This piece of cinematic greatness helped our generation to keep up the tradition of turning the lights off then running like hell to leap from as far away as possible onto our beds! lol
Loved how you cracked up when Stephen Doriff character is sucked through the door, it is a hilarious scene that also made me laugh when I recently watched this.
Fuckin’ love the demon at the end! Tight tight tight! 😛
Dude, Alex Winter is Bill S. Preston, Esq! He’s a director also.

one of my all time favourites! dosent hold up but is still a fun ride.
I remember seeing this as a kid. It was pretty cool, but I didn’t know that it had such a cult following.
This movie scare you when were a little boy!
It scare me a bit when I was small boy in the in early 90’s.
Mostly Chidplay 1,2 & 3, Puppet Master 1, 2 & 3, Silent Night Deadly Night 5: Toy Maker, Dolly Dearest, Dolls and Pumpkinhead scare me when I was small boy in the early 90’s, as long as I remember. Not much only a bit The Gates and Leprechaun scares me a bit.
loved this shit back in the 80s
