Jason Guinn says:

Hell yes brother, Nightbreed!!! As the list started, I was thinking why this film isn’t on more horror lists. Love that movie and most of the others are on this list. .

valcliff b says:

Wow, Battle Royale was a weird manga. I could vouch for it belonging to the horror genre, though in a roundabout kind of way. I mean all these kids just got in high school, and while most of them become victims of the program, there are a few that slash and shoot their way through the ranks like it’s just another Tuesday.

Halloween was a classic I was in love with when I was little, but I watched it recently and found myself terribly underwhelmed by it. Is it just that the film itself didn’t age gracefully where it needed to, or am I just getting too jaded for what Hollywood considers horrifying?

Cult Horror Reviews says:

Honorable Mentions: The Survivor, City Of the Living Dead, Halloween, Night Of the living dead, Carnival of Souls, Jaws

KenzieM says:

It always seems like I can tell someone who’s watched Bravo’s “100 Scariest Movie Moments”. You should totally do something on that list.

Ben Colohan says:

My dad saw the first Halloween in theaters while in the Navy. When Michael is shot and falls over the balcony the theater got quiet. My dad says to my mom “If he is gone when they look back then I am out of here.” My dad has a very deep voice that is almost booming. So when they did the scene where Michael is gone a Marine near by says that he’ll hold the door.

Hardcore Horror says:

+ The Horror Guru What are your thoughts on Battle Royale and who is your favourite character?

E Tr says:

Awesome list… considering I’d barely be able to pick a top 100, let alone a top 10. Obviously there will be a lot missing 🙂 Super glad you put Candyman on there though, that movie is just perfect in every way (Clive Barker…Virginia Madsen…Tony Todd… and friggin Philip Glass composing…it’s truly perfect).

Nativemoon says:

Literally the BEST channel on YouTube! I found your channel a little over a year ago and couldn’t believe you didn’t have over a million subscribers! You are my best kept secret! Lol 🙂

DarkKnightFanBoy says:

I agree with you on candyman! I feel it’s an absolutely underrated film. Very few films actually unsettle me, but candyman does just that. The atmosphere, the music, the imagery, the social commentary, all of works perfectly to make one of the best horror films ever made!

The Mesozoin Show! says:

I can agree Gojira is terrifying…wait…you should review some of the Godzilla movies.

C0rNxD0gx MeTalHEAD says:

Came here from WWW saw 3 of your videos loved them think you should have more subs and THEN you praised an Eli Roth film that knocked you do quite a few pegs in my book u still cool tho

Scary Cleve says:

Great list, Horror Guru! And I love how you brought up the theme of being an outsider in NIGHTBREED. Anyone can feel like an outsider for any reason, not just in terms of sexuality, gender, race, religious beliefs (or lack of), but it can be a simple of matter of what you are in to. Even nowadays, horror fans still get looked down on by self-righteous types that are just projecting their own insecurities. But just like in NIGHTBREED, the outsiders will always have the last laugh.

As for my own list of fav horror movies, it would have to be:

5) Videodrome, 4) Noseferatu, 3) Hellraiser, 2) Texas Chainsaw Massacre, 1) Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer
