Aman Jaiswal says:

Anyone has any idea when is it releasing in India?

HotWombat47 says:

This is the best movie of the year so far in my opinion.

Logan Shea says:

I really thought this was going to end up being a masterpiece, but I’m still really excited to go see it

irregular mana says:

This movie trailer has been playing a lot on Hulu and it made me not want to watch this movie. It’s like that one co-worker who keeps telling you to eat, watch, listen or read that one thing, the more they say it the less you want to. But now after this review I might go see it

bryan evans says:

You completely missed the language barrier’s point

It's A Trap says:

I hope you go back to your usual style of reviews soon. I like to hear your opinions “off the cuff” as your personality really shines through. Lately it’s as if you are just reading your review. Just my opinion that you can take or leave. Still enjoy your content.

Emili Anona says:

Where is Chris????

Jameson Coleman says:

This hasn’t come out in a theatre where I live. And that sucks because I’m a huge fan of Wes Anderson and stop motion so I was really excited to see this. This is what sucks about living in a small southern town.

tleeg74 says:

Another goddamn scripted review from stuckmann. Why don’t you do what you do best and give us a personal review, not with the Studio’s told you to say?

Peebo chu says:

I enjoy your reviews but i really dislike your new format. It feels too scripted and impersonal compared to your previous style, as it seemed more like a friendly discussion.

w0wguy says:

pls “You were never really here”

naraicks says:

not seeing you on camera is strange…..i don’t like it.

Lasse Galsgaard says:

Promise that this won’t be your primary format…

Joshmanvideos says:

I love spanking girls

UnoriginallyChrisLPs says:

I feel like the art style of this movie would have scared the hell out of me as a kid. Seems very uncanny valley to me.

SirJedi Sentinel says:

Interesting enough, there was a TV miniseries in the 80s called “Shogun” (adapted from a really amazing novel) that did the same thing, granted it made more sense there given the structure of that story. “Shogun” is a fictionalized retelling of the Western World’s first interactions with Japan, told through the eyes of an English sailor (Richard Chamberlain) as he befriends a warlord (Toshiro Mifune). Like here, the scenes between the Japanese characters aren’t translated. Instead, they’re explained by a narrator (Orson Welles). It’s a great book and a really good miniseries.

GrantSmithBass says:

It’s a voice over review ….. cause the actors did this movie as ‘voice over’ – Woof !!

David Wyatt says:

This film looks absolutely gorgeous.

Tombocartoons says:

The all star cast definitely did a great job, but I feel their potential was wasted in a lot of ways. The marketing for the film makes it out like each dog is going to get their own healthy dosage of distinct character moments but honestly the Bryan Cranston dog is the only one that matters by the end of it. Every other dog basically just turns into the same means-to-an-end kind of character which I felt was disappointing, despite the fact that the character moments between Chief and Atari were the best moments in the film. Not helped by the fact that the rest of the cast, while also immense talent and huge names, had like next to no moments in this movie that’s the longest stop motion film ever made. Scarlett Johansson gets like 2 scenes and Yoko Ono is easily the most pointless cameo in the whole movie. She doesn’t do anything an aspiring Japanese actress couldn’t do.

In comparison, Fantastic Mr. Fox ALSO has an all star cast but each character gets more defining moments in overall less screen time. There’s two character arcs (Foxy and Ash) instead of one (Chief) in which a character goes through their own conflict and changes for the better by the end of it. Also Bill Murray generally gets better lines and more to separate himself from the rest of the cast.

It’s ironic because Isle of Dogs is generally a simpler movie where the only core theme really is that dogs are great, while Fantastic Mr. Fox tackles themes of innate primal nature, the acceptance of oneself and the contentment of a simpler life, and yet Isle of Dogs is the significantly longer movie of the two. Overall I think Fantastic Mr. Fox does more with less and is therefore the better film.

Soccer Skillz09 says:

The Movie Is Fucking Shit

Nexus Akayuki says:

Joke’s on u, Chris, I can speak Japanese xD

Thanh Giang Hoai says:

the background music feels a bit uneasy

G. Foggy. says:

Anderson didn’t make it expecting a PG-13

Cokedup Normies says:

You know you’re busy when the first time you hear of a movie is on a clickhole article.

Stephen Malovski says:

Does anyone else feels that the actors in this movie sounded like Harrison Ford in the Blade Runner voice over

Mike S says:

I like the old format, just saying. Still going to watch because our movie tastes are the same and I can trust your opinion on films. Bit prefer the old format

Red says:

Lets not give all the credit to Wes. He has a vision, but it’s the animators that made this movie really.

Japanon says:

*Nagasaki

Matt Lucas says:

This movie came in March .So I wouldn’t count this as April movie .Overall I would give it 7.8.C+

Rachel Miller says:

I loooooove this format of behind the scenes footage, partly because the process behind stop motion is so damn fascinating. It really enhances your assessment overall.
