Asian Movie Enthusiast says:

A good live action adaptation? Nice. I enjoyed the anime but thought it had pacing issues. I will look out for this movie.

Thank you for making this review. I saw the ‘Kids on the Slope’ anime on Hulu a few weeks ago, and I thought it was astounding. I hope you get a chance to see it. When I saw the trailer for the live-action movie, I was struck with how well the actors captured the characters I saw portrayed in the anime. I really hope this movie makes it to the US, because I desperately want to see it, especially after seeing your review.

Ais says:

It’s actually based on the manga of the same name where the anime was also based from. This has been a double kill film for me since I’m a fan of Sakamichi no Apollon and Takahiro Miki films. The manga has a much better ending compared to the anime (since the manga wasn’t finished was it when the anime was ending).

According to the cast’s guesting in VS Arashi, Chinen had to practice the piano for 6 months was it & had to completely copy how the teacher plays the piano because the pieces are all jazz. And Nakagawa had to also practice for 3 months was it for him to play convincing drums.

A Touch Of Film says:

I’ve not seen the Anime but i’m going to see if I can find it over here in the UK, But I’m going to look out for this! Great review Ray!
