Amy Louise says:

Saw it today (as I’m from the UK and it was released today) and agree with what you’re saying! Other than about re-creating the magic of the first movie. That’s never going to happen, the first movie is untouchable and thats not what the Jurassic World series is about (in my opinion anyway). They attempted to re-create the magic with the first Jurassic World, gave us a park that was fully functioning the way Hammond intended, but it had to be destroyed in the storyline, they couldn’t have the perfect reality where the park runs seemlessly; that’s boring and people would leave unsatisfied. However, Fallen Kingdom is a brilliant second instalment, because (unlike Jurassic Park 2 and 3) it coincides with the first movie. The logic is there and the movie MAKES SENSE. Which is brilliant. I do think that the whole plot of the villain (I don’t want to spoil it but you know what I mean) is getting a little old, however I don’t believe that they’ll have room for that plot in the third instalment, and if they do; they’ll run it dry. Great review though! I love how you’ve given a decent enough review of the movie without spoiling it!

Ichabod Crane says:

I really enjoyed the film for me I Agree with John, 2nd best in series

pop cannon says:

Love the hat

Alex Zabala says:

Rehash of a rehash of a rehash…

Jamez Johnson says:

Please name a sequel that captures the magic of the first movie? I can name one maybe Lethal Weapon.

Bear Loves Film says:

Totally agree that it lacks the grandeur of the original Jurassic Park (and to a lesser extent Jurassic World), choosing to replace it with the claustrophobia of chases inside buildings, etc. Claire’s character was a major step up from JW and so much more likeable and easier to relate to. They are moving the franchise in an interesting new way that I like. End credit scene could have been better though.

mr_ash says:

Come with the magic for crying out loud…! No DINO movie is going to have that same feel as the first movie UNLESS they start giving them feathers. LOL

Cedric Mathew Hudson says:

John is one of the few people on YouTube I COMPLETELY trust with his reviews, if he says “Second best”, I’m REALLY sold now.

Jaster Mareel says:

Can you please stop putting on ridiculous costumes for movie reviews as if you were hosting Romper Room?

Bobby Vee says:

I’m putting it on my list of summer films to go see.

im snek says:

I watched it already i give it a 11/10

BlueBadgerGamer says:

The only flaw I have so far is some scenes feel like there to quick and don’t last long enough. The film actually felt shorter than jurrasic world. I also had this problem a bit with blade runner 2049 which felt like it was over to quick.

Vote For Pedro says:

The little girl annoyed the shit outta me, never stopped screaming

RubyD says:

“Heartbreaking moments.” Oh no… the only thing I can think of that would affect me emotionally from these films is if the raptor dies protecting Peter Quill.

Akshay Dhar says:

Even Spilberg couldn’t “Capture the magic of the first one”. Stop expecting.

Angel Delgado says:

You remind me of Harvey Kietel

thegodmachine says:

Dylan Milne says:

I found the first half of the movie a bore and rather implausible and poorly fleshed out. The second half was quite good and I would’ve liked it to have been more adult though being the big 12A rating mass appeal blockbuster it is I knew that wouldn’t happen.

The second part of the film was well grounded pretty much all being in one location which really built the gothic horror vibe.

I found the jibes at modern culture out of place with a news report headline saying “president questions whether dinosaurs exist in first place” the evil villains all being majority white, all male and certain minor antagonists appearing to be Russian and Chinese as poor choices for what could’ve been much more interesting fantasy.

The two newer almost milienial characters were pretty afterthought-like to the whole film and I feel like maybe even older previous cast members would’ve been a much better fit. Also one of these characters was a “Paleo-veterinarian” yet hadn’t even seen dinosaurs before. How can you be a doctor or vet without even seeing let alone practicing on a potential subject?

Overall I thought the start was very weak, a lot of the dialogue could’ve been interesting yet the potential was missed and replaced with exposition about a relationship I think most of the audience weren’t interested in. When the film got into its stride after the initial island the pace seemed to change and the film was as said, much better. The deaths in the film were predictable and the horror was taken away from with the predictability of survival.

Raptor Kid says:

Jurassic world fallen kingdom is very suspensfull and scary, the indoraptor is very intelligent and guide funny! And when the dinosaurs now roam on are world it’s very good set up for Jurassic world 3.
