JB 360 says:

mmmm the Fin and Ross stuff will be skipped for me when watching the Bluray. I could have done with a lot less of them. The opening Battle is the best part!!!

Mike Earwicker says:

Jeez Johnny. Spoiler alert! I wished you had warned us…
Great review. Glad to hear you and Kim had a great time.

PsimanUK says:

I knew absolutely NOTHING about the story going into this movie. I deliberately avoided everything about this film and hadn’t even looked at the poster. I was really excited to see it after enjoying the Force Awakens but after leaving this film I now have practically no interest in seeing episode IX. It’s not that it was a terrible film, as it had many great moments, but it wasn’t the film I was hoping for. It felt very much like ‘goodbye Lucasfilm, hello Disney’. I saw the Force Awakens three times at the cinema but have zero interest in seeing this a second time on the big screen. I’m sure I’ll catch it again when it arrives on Netflix but I think that’s enough Star Wars for me for now. They will have to come come up with something special to get my box office money for the next one.

jebber gaming jaws says:

Loved it!

Kyle Warring says:

Did you see the ending after the credits?!

Lawrence of Lamneth says:

You are on point Johnny. I loved this movie!

Fury161 says:

So… just another recycling of the original trilogy without taking risks?, for all the things the Prequels got wrong (acting direction was the most of it), those films at least expanded the universe and presented a background way more bigger than the characters. Anyway knowing that bitch (Kathleen Kennedy) it isn’t a surprise that the franchise will go full copy-paste/fanservice/average popcorn flick-ish in the future.

The_Angry_Raccoon says:

What’s with all the dumb sh*t and terrible decisions in the new star wars movies?

They’re borderline good, even great movies, but who is deciding to put Rathtars in TFA, or making Snoke look like a CG freak instead of an actor with prosthetics or a puppet, or even a real guy with digital make up. Who is putting in all the goofy comedy. Or including a fake looking and distracting CG Tarkin. Rogue One blatantly needed a re-edit and give jyn a bit of a backstory, spend more time on the farm, show her interactions and youth with Saw.

For me, there’s a bunch of obvious things missing, and a bunch of goofy, CLEARLY, out of place moments that bog down the films and spoil suspension of disbelief. Or things that obviously need to be slightly more developed.

I’m just a random nobody on the internet, but I feel like I could easily fix the flaws in the recent movies with several tweaks. I know I could. That’s why it’s so baffling Disney and LucasFilm keep letting crap slide.

I really like the new movies overall though.

Coffee Guy says:

SPOILERS: DON’T READ FURTHER: Luke and Rey had great chemistry. I also liked Finn and Rose relationship. It surprised me there was no deeper Rey and Finn relationships even when Finn was actively searching for Rey. I mean seriously, Rey was his first thought… I was really tense about seeing this film because I felt there were million ways to ruin Luke and Leia to push Rey, Kylo and Finn as new guys. I also understand the ending because of the new guys. Especially Luke had satisfying ending.
Luke… why you always look at the horizon? I think this film answers that question in the form of Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren.

jim dandy says:

Porgs are really funny after you’ve eaten a handful of magic mushrooms I dont know what it is.

Gilbert Garcia says:

Stop dissecting everything, if it’s simular to anh its the same, if its too differnt and takes risks “it ruins cannon” let it be its own thing. How would you trolls like Luke to become one with the force, by getting beat in a saber duel??? I don’t think so. Its a movie that makes you happy, joyful, sad, mad, I’m pretty sure those are signs of a good movie, one that rips people apart and leaves us feeling separated.

ravagingwolverine says:

I hated Episode 7, so the only interest I had in Episode 8 was just spoilers. It sounds like I’d hate this one too. But I don’t agree with those who say it ruins the entire franchise or it ruins our childhood. It may ruin the series for some people going forward. It may even damage the franchise as a product as some people predict. That remains to be seen. But it ruins nothing for me. I won’t follow the franchise into modern times. I’ll just stick to the first three and ignore the existence of anything else.

Dylan McLarnon says:

Whoah! You made a blue lightsaber with the like/dislikes!

WILLY MANSILLA says:

why do they keep trying to make movies funny? did not like it.. what a waste of time

DryBoneJones says:

Yep I cant take people seriously anymore, its either awful or a masterpiece. I think its high time some folks make their own stories, join a film school and make your own stuff a reality.

Chee Rpgg says:

Half of people love it and the other half hate it

David B says:

The sequel I want from The Force Awakens? A black screen. No more. Stop, he’s already dead!

Vidal Moraza says:

The Rose and Finn parts are weak, the rest is awesome, 8.5/10, would see it again today

Tommy Tomlin says:

crazy to see peoples different opinions, like complete opposites. Your own opinions people?

Wes s says:

I disagree I left the theater really disappointed

Tyrone Wiggins says:

I fuckin hate overlaughers

The_Angry_Raccoon says:

Kylo Rens Knights of Ren should be the successors to the throne if anything happens to Kylo, there’s a line of successors, so the resistance has to find and assassinate them, it would be a great twist on order 66, this time it’s the resistance wiping out the… Jedi…kinda

LightFykki says:

Unfortunately, I have to say that while I did enjoy the movie and thought that it was good, it was not a good Star Wars movie for me. It barely lacked new settings, it tried too much with sudden turns, too many plot holes expecting people to only care about action but not the actual context behind them, and finally, changing the Star Wars formula with that ending through the context of reshaping the force.

Mark was amazing as Luke, even though I wanted to see him in a bit different light (no pun intended) and a bit more of him seeing that he is the last star of the movie from the original trilogy.
That part with Leia was ridiculous. The part with the light speed action was similar (but it did look flashy), and everything just felt bland or redone just in a different way…

Depending how the last movie plays out, this might be for me possibly the weakst trilogy.

OpTiOn SeVeN says:

After much thought I can see that it’s actually a masterpiece. Blew me away. The middle and last half of the movie had me at the edge of my seat

Moonawrathic says:

Dissapointed. I felt like the movie took no chances. “The Jedi must end” End of the movie, Rey is considered a Jedi… “Kylo and Rey are teaming up!” oh wait, no they are not. “We finally get to see snoke and will learn about his mysterious past” Nope, he’s dead. He was arguably more powerful than the Emperor but he just magically came out of nowhere? “Rey is drawn to the darkenss and doesn’t even resist it!” Yet she went under the island and learned nothing at all. No temptation, no lesson, no knowledge. Nothing… “Awesome!, looks like Luke is to blame and Kylo is justified” nope, just a misunderstanding. “Luke is going to face Kylo. He’s probably going to die like Obewan…” Nope, he lives to see another day, oh wait, he’s dead…
Now, there were other issues too. Rose could have very easily killed herself and Finn by flying her ship into him. How the heck did warping into the enemy ships destroy the whole fleet, wish they’d done that against the Death Star…. Finn and Rose did all of that for no reason at all. The list goes on and on. But, I did love seeing Yoda again in puppet form. I loved the island and the Jedi tomes being burned. I actually thought that was great to be honest. For a movie full of explosions and action, why was it all forgettable except for the supreme guard fight? The bomber girl sacrifice scene was more annoying than it was gratifying or emotional. The list just goes on and on.

Justin Yates says:

My thing is if Luke was gonna die by projection why didn’t he just go and fight for realz! Also they bring in all these new powers with no context! Listen i enjoyed every second i was there but i can definitely see where the criticism lies!!!

SUPRAGZAEROTOP says:

i really enjoyed it, watched it last night, even had a photo with a storm trooper lol. yeah I was at first unsure what I thought of the film. but it is really good. for diehard skywalker fans who grew up with the old films, they probably wont be happy massively . I do think for sure sky walker should have gone out with a bang, but then the way he goes in this film, well he don’t die does he!!! he exhausts himself and vanishes into the force. maybe he will come back ‘-)
