My 300th video!

Ohhh snap, today I’ve got one of Arnold’s awesome ’80s action flicks, Commando. I give you a quick review of the movie and then delve deeper into some choice scenes from the film.

Commando follows John Matrix (Arnold Schwarzenegger) as he tries to rescue his daughter (with help from Cindy played by Rae Dawn Chong) from a failed dictator and one of his old Army compatriots (Bennett played by Vernon Wells) turned enemies. Basically everyone standing in John Matrix’s way gets wasted, nobody is spared.

Saw a pirate video of this at school during an RE lesson in 1985. And it was awesome, Let off some steam Bennet.

Fragrance Tattoo says:

I first saw this is in a second time around movie house.
It was the kinda movie house were you could bring in your own Six Pack , of which I did .
I was sooooo hiiigggghhhh . At 7:05 , we were laughing so hard .
Then right after those laughs , it was the *Beavis and Butthead* _that was cool_ satisfied smiles .
That was the whole movie for us. Loved it , loved it loved it.

The Commando Blazer was the most memorable for me.
I did point out that the Blazer should be past the cars .
One of people I went with said to me right after, ” You’re a regular Sherlock Homes ” .
I got the picture after that.
Lot’s of fun.

Ashton, would you consider reviewing _Blue Velvet, or some Dario Argenta or The Crow_ .
If you enjoyed _Black Hawk Down_ , that would be another.
Having a great time with your reviews.
Best luck and wishes with them.

Slice of my childhood and such a stellar breakdown of the movie. I never picked up the vibe from the villain. I must’ve been obtuse seeing the flick a millions times.
The saw blade through the head as a ninja star while hanging upside down in a shed surrounded by assassins was epic.
Even more awesome was the lead villain is the dad from Night at he Roxbury (you should review that too) and he has the worst fake accent.
Looking forward to the Predator review
Awesome awesome review my man!

Darren Newell says:

I saw it when it first hit the screen and couldn’t stop laughing and still laugh at it now. Bring on “The Thing”!

Tobias Mober says:

There was something in the air that night, the stars were bright, commando!!!!

Hey Ash, I love your 80’s movies reviews. Not just because they are awesome (yet admittedly janky) movies, but you do such an entertaining job talking about them! Commando will always be one of the top tier action movies in my book, but please you gotta do one on what I also consider to be one of the finest 80s action movies ever: Death Wish 3. My god there is so much to pick apart in that one. Sweet synth soundtrack? Check. Shitty looking villians? Check. Absurd bodycount? One of the highest if I’m not mistaken. The slow pace jog at the end with Kersey and the Chief? AMAZINGLY CASUAL! You know what I don’t need to say more. I know you’ve seen it. I just hope you share with the world your perspective about it. P.S. Love all your frag vids too.

Fat Boy says:

This is the fucking review I’ve been waiting for!! Also I’ve seen originals of the watch he wears sell for good money on eBay

Terry Cunningham says:

Lol ohhh the multitude of one-liners in this one

Gung Fu says:

Ash, you gonna do a review of the Bruce Lee movies ?

LOL ASH……..still killing it……LOL

MrTShbib says:

Also, this reminds of a time when masculinity was admired and celebrated instead of demonized like it is today.

MrTShbib says:

Loved this movie, great vid. More classic action movie reviews!

Fat Boy says:

This obviously should have been called Commando Above The Law

Markus Uerschels says:

One of my fond childhood memories and one of the manliest male movies ever done. Just Ahnuld, a good killin’ spree, big explosions and oneliner galore spoken for enternity! ❤

Travis L says:

Vintage Arnold was awesome. This new climate change fag that rides around Santa Monica on his bicycle is lame.
